Every year it seems we see an exponential jump in the amount of email we receive, yet our capacity to organize it has remained linear.  We're locked into a throwback, paper based paradigm for organizing information and it has outlived its effectiveness.  Folders provide structure, but at far too great a cost.

Desktop Search on the other hand costs nothing.  Some may argue that Search has negated filing altogether and to an extent we agree.  Search is great if you know what you're looking for, but unfortunately it falls short if you don't know, but you'll know when you see it.  Sometimes it gives you what you pay for.

The goal for SideFinder is the best of both worlds.  We want to minimize the cost of filing by making it as simple as Search, but still give your data a table of contents to act as a guide.  In short, it's structure without discipline.

Where we're going...

We're starting our journey in Outlook because email is the primary source of chaos in most everyone's work life. However, SideFinder is going much further than Outlook.

Our plan is to integrate the SideFinder sidebar into web browsers and file managers like Explorer so you can use the same tags for everything else you want to organize.

Stay tuned; you may be able to wave goodbye to fragmented folder islands and instill order in all aspects of virtual life from that one little sidebar.
